Before the Storm.

So we’ve been super busy the past week or so, so we haven’t written any on our blogs.  We’ve had house guests, partied, gone to Tokyo and Nagashima, and had a full week of work or so.

Let me start with the stuff that isn’t super huge.

Work is fine, nothing really changes with that.  I did change things up again though with my way of teaching.  Normally we would teach phrases like, “I like ________.”  The entire phrase would be on a card, and we would simply add flash cards to the end.  The kids are very good a recognizing them, but I wondered if them simply knowing the stock phrase is good enough.

So I made a bunch of single word cards like, “I” “like” “you” “not” “do” and so on.  Now instead of teaching phrases, I’ll slowly get the kids accustomed to building sentences with words and they’ll associate single words with meanings instead of phrases.

As for all of the stuff that isn’t boring.  I’ll be writing them out as single entries.  So if you want to read about our friends, the trip to Tokyo, and all of that, they’ll be here shortly.
