Christmas Party!
Saturday was our Christmas party. It was short and sweet.
We had an buffet of small food that was actually pretty good and we had some game that was called, “Number 1.” Essentially there were several lists of items that were categorized by things like, “What color car do new drivers most want,” and there would be 6 choices. You guess what the number one choice is.
We also all dressed up like Santa. We all looked like Bad Santa. Not many of my kids came, and the few that did weren’t assigned to sit with me.
There is nerd below.
Okay, so I’ve started playing Castlevania again. I found a lot more secrets in it and have been tearing through it more and more. A lot of the tedium is gone, and now it is just kind of interesting to push the game’s limits.
As for my pam_quiz project, I have finished programming and have moved on to testing. Anyone who knows anything about this knows how much work is left to be done. At this point the thing doesn’t even start. Since my project isn’t really a program that runs, but rather a component that another one uses, testing it is rather problematic. Even more so because it is supposed to run when you log into a computer. So if you try to log in and the thing breaks, what happens? Can you log in? That is a pretty big problem.
I also hosed some stuff for my editor, TextMate. I love that program. It comes with bundles that do a billion smaller tasks for you, without really getting in the way. Unfortunately a script to install a new one deleted all of my old ones.
Never fear, here is how I fixed it. I went and downloaded a website that keeps a listing of all of the available bundles in html format. Then I used awk and sed to create a file of just the entries, like “C++.tmbundle”. Then I wrote a small script that goes line by line through the file and sees if the bundle has been downloaded or not. If it hasn’t been, then it gets it, if it has been downloaded then it updates itself.
So much nerd in one day. I am happy.

Hey man
You do kinda look like Bad Santa, but more like a disgruntled version of will ferrell’s Elf (just disgruntled looking because the beard). I don’t think I have seen a picture ofyou guys since looking at your wedding video which was awesome. Look forward to seeing you guys at the Isaacs household come Christmas time which, for you guys is now days away. Hope you all are doing great. Know that I am praying for you guys, and can’t wait to see you and hang out.
