Post Mortem.

Well, the wedding went really well.  It was crazy, hectic, and great.  Megan was gorgeous and I hear I was pretty snazzy myself.  You’ll be able to make your own decisions as soon as we get the pictures online.  There’s a pretty lengthy story I have to tell that I can’t get into just yet, mostly because I don’t have time right now, and the story doesn’t have an ending yet.

So Megan and I are officially married, we went to our honeymoon in paradise, and came back to the mud puddle known as Tahlequah.  Good news is that we have gotten out of our apartment lease that is run by zealots, so we can get all of our wedding loot and whatnot stored before Japan, which is almost one month away.

Megan said, “After planning this wedding and being stressed out all the time, what are we going to have to look forward too now?”  Silly girl.  We’re moving to another country in a month and we haven’t got our paperwork done, our drivers licenses, any kind of plan to deal with bills here while making money here, or that she doesn’t know any Japanese.

I have a lot more to write on all of these things, but I just haven’t had time yet, but I will soon.  I’m also going to try to transplant my old blog into this one.  No idea what might happen with that.

Honeymoon

Rockhouse BreakfastMegan and I are enjoying breakfast in Jamaica.  We’re staying at the rockhouse hotel.  One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.  Check it out if you have time.  I’m not going to write a lot because, well, this is our honeymoon.  Just wanted to say everything is great and here’s our breakfast view.

Saturday.

Today was supposed to be a relaxing day for me and my fiance. Things don’t usually work out like that when you are planning a wedding thats happening in 3 weeks or if you’re planning to leave the country. There are usually one or two things to do.

Its not all bad though. We’re going into Tulsa to finalize some wedding junk, and I’ve been looking hard for airline tickets to Japan. There have been some pretty good deals so far, but I have to call these kids up to actually book the travel. My parents pride themselves in being able to find the lowest airfare, and when I’ve been telling them the prices I’ve found, they’ve been shocked.

They weren’t shocked I’m getting married, weren’t shocked I graduated college, weren’t shocked when I did ocean rescue, but they are shocked at the airplane tickets I found. Go figure.

What did I do today?

  • Figured out how to get a marriage license
  • Bought liquor for my fiance’s bachelorette party
  • Got a credit card so I can do balance transfers and fix our finances
  • Mailed off some tax forms
  • Conned Jason into helping plan my bachelor party!

I’ll be working the rest of this weekend, but at least I got a few more things done.  So much more to do. (more…)

Wedding Updates.

Thanks to my Momma Faye, I was told people can’t register to leave me comments. That has now been fixed. I don’t like the layout of this site, so it will change at some point as well. On to the wedding updates.

Most importantly, the wedding is still on! Second, thanks to everyone who has been sending us gifts and response cards. Every day has had a surprise in the mail, and thats always a good feeling. Third, I thought we had taken care of most of wedding planning at this point, but it seems like the more we do, the more we see we have left to do. Today I put a deposit down on the DJ. Two weeks ago I rented the tuxedos. I still have to write my vows, get the alcohol for the wedding, arrange a bachelor party, pay the caterer, the DJ, the Photographer, get a marriage license, and show up. (more…)
